During the week of June 13-19, our youth group participated in its second Home Mission Project! This project was basically a mission trip "in our own backyard."
Our ministries that week included Backyard Bible Clubs in two local campgrounds, helping out at local ministries such as the Adams Rescue Mission and the US Christian Commission, Family Night for our church family, a prayer walk/drive, visiting senior citizens from our church family, distributing literature about MBC throughout the community, and doing some cleaning and gardening here at the church. It was a great week, and we pray that the Lord was pleased with what was accomplished. The students were awesome – I am so thankful for such a great group of teens to work with!
The Mission Project has also opened more doors for us to minister in the future, as we have already set up times in the fall for visitation and working with the US Christian Commission. Please continue to pray for our students as they minister in our community.
Thank You to everyone who was involved in any way with our 2010 Home Mission Project! Each person, whether you supported us through prayer, finances, teaching a Backyard Bible Club, or even encouraging us was vital to the success of the project. We praise the Lord for an awesome week of ministry and fellowship.
