Making A Difference
Making A Difference

The work of the Lord presses on each day around the world. We realize the smallest contribution can help make a positive difference. The word mission is initiated and empowered by the Spirit of Christ within the body of Christ across the world. As Christians it is our mission to carry out our Heavenly Father’s work. At Memorial, our mission is to reach the world for Christ. It is our continuing goal to support Christian missions locally, nationally and internationally.

Missions We Support

DiscipleMakers (Campus Ministry)

DiscipleMakers is a Christian campus ministry based in Pennsylvania. Our goal is to raise up the next generation of leaders for the Church by training college students in Bible study, gospel-driven discipleship, and evangelism. Our local DiscipleMakers are Kevin and Maria Noyes from Hanover, PA. They minister to Gettysburg College and Penn State York.

Annie Armstrong Emphasis (Home Missions)

Each year, we honor the life and work of Annie Walker Armstrong (1850-1938) when we give to the annual offering for home missions named after her. As a tireless servant of God and a contagious advocate and supporter of mission efforts throughout the world, Annie Armstrong led women to unite in mission endeavors that ultimately led to the formation of Woman’s Missionary Union, for which she served as the first corresponding secretary.

Lottie Moon Emphasis (International Missions)

Southern Baptist churches collect the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for the sole purpose of supporting international missions. Every penny of the offering goes to the International Mission Board’s overseas budget, thus supporting our missionaries.

God is giving Southern Baptists unprecedented opportunities to join Him in His work in the world. Recent natural disasters continue to remind us of the urgency of reaching the lost before it is too late. If we are going to join God on mission, we must have a God-sized vision and heart that leads us to sacrificial giving – for the nations as well as for those called to go.
